The Drift of Education

Stillness amidst the drift

In a world where education often drifts,
Concepts learned and practical life rifts.
Syllabuses static, in a dynamic mire,
What good is knowledge, if not to inspire?

The learning we acquire, in books, in class,
Seems distant, detached, from life’s morass.
But education, truly, is a flowing stream,
New applications emerging, a constant dream.

The curriculum’s set, yet the world spins on,
How can we keep pace, with what’s foregone?
In this whirl of change, where should we steer?
The answers are elusive, never near.

Public opinions flow, a deluge of words,
More often muddling, than aiding our course.
A bridge between learning and life must we erect,
To traverse the chasm, to connect, to affect.

For bricks alone can’t build our walls,
We need the adhesives that prevent the falls.
The glue in education, what could it be?
The fostering of uniqueness, the setting free.

We must nurture individuality, not force a mould,
Let each learner’s unique story be told.
For education isn’t an assembly line,
Each mind is a rare, precious design.

The velocity of AI, swift and keen,
Outpaces us, on the future’s screen.
Yet, as we marvel at its wondrous face,
Let’s not forget the human grace.

While machines rise, ineffable and grand,
Let’s hone the uniqueness that makes us stand.
For in this drift, this educational tide,
It’s the human spirit that must be our guide.
